hrough our doors history meets hospitality. Located on 7 acres and only 15 minutes from Longwood Gardens, Hamanassett offers romantic accommodations with all the amenities expected by today's travelers. This historic registry mansion, built in 1856, offers seclusion, tranquility, and casual elegance where our goal is to pamper and meet your every need. You need only ask if we haven't already anticipated! Our breakfasts are legendary for their bounty and imagination. Most of our guests claim they never have to stop for lunch! Where every detail is attended to including antique china, silver and crystal, breakfast is served in the formal dining room with fireplace or on the patio weather permitting. Special diets accommodated with advance notice.

Although off the beaten path, Hamanassett is only minutes to most of the major Brandywine Valley attractions. An impressive staircase with palladium window leads to oversized rooms with king and queen beds, some with canopies, all with large private attached baths. Our two suites have desks as well as large sitting areas for the business traveler. Public rooms include a large book lined living room with fireplace and baby grand piano, billiard room and solarium. During warm weather enjoy relaxing in the rocking chairs overlooking the waterfall and koi pond. Our two two story 2 bedroom cottages are our most private accommodations and tucked into the woods behind the main house or stable. They are perfect for people traveling with dogs, children under 10, or those just seeking a little extra privacy.
